The Land Rover Defender 110 was only officially imported and sold in the US in 1993. That year they imported roughly 500 US spec 110 wheel base Defenders.  That’s a shame, because the legendary Defender is a cherished icon around the world. This 1996 Defender 110 features the sought-after 300 TDi turbo-diesel engine and a proper 5-speed R380 manual gearbox. Finished in black over a grey interior, this example maintains a clean, purposeful aesthetic while offering true go-anywhere functionality.

This is a body-on-frame truck with flat aluminum panels that one can literally hammer back into shape with a rubber mallet. The doors have drain holes in the bottom because Land Rover assumed you would be fording rivers. The windshield folds flat, enabling a next-to-nature experience. The sills are bolted, not welded so you can replace them if they corrode. Every design choice screams "fix me in the field."
